Graphite Electrode

Graphite electrode is a kind of high-temperature-resistant graphite conductive material, which is made of petroleum coke and pitch coke as granular materials, coal tar pitch as binder, through kneading, molding, roasting, graphitization, and machining. Carbon graphite electrode is an important high-temperature conductive material for EAF steelmaking. It inputs electric energy to EAF through graphite electrode and uses the high temperature generated by the arc between the electrode end and the charge as the heat source to melt the charge for steelmaking. Electrode de graphite is often used as a conductive material in other electric smelting or electrolysis equipment.

Graphite Electrode Application

Ordinary power graphite electrode is allowed to use graphite electrode with a current density less than 17a / cm2. It is mainly used in ordinary power electric furnaces for steelmaking, silicon smelting, and yellow phosphorus smelting.

The invention relates to an oxidation-resistant coating graphite electrode, and a graphite electrode coated with an oxidation-resistant protective layer (graphite electrode antioxidant). The formation of both conductive and high-temperature oxidation-resistant protective layers can reduce the electrode consumption (19% ~ 50%), prolong the service life of the electrode (22% ~ 60%), and reduce the electric energy consumption of the electrode.

High power carbon graphite electrode, allowing the use of current density of 18 ~ 25A / cm2 graphite electrode, mainly used in steel-making high power electric arc furnace.

Ultra-high power graphite electrode. Graphite electrode with a current density greater than 25A / cm2 is allowed. It is mainly used in ultra-high power EAF.

How to use graphite electrode

1. First of all, we need to wipe the protective cap on the opening to detect the integrity of the electrode thread.

2. On the premise of determining the integrity, the next step is to clean the internal thread of the hole and the surface of the spare graphite electrode.

3. Insert the connector into the electrode hole and connect the electrode sling to the other end.

4. When dropping the carbon graphite electrode, be careful not to let the electrode collide with other fixing devices.

5. Hang the spare electrode above the electrode to be connected. When the distance between the two electrode ends is 10-20 mm, clean the exposed parts of the two electrode ends and the joint again with compressed air. It should be lighter to avoid the damage of the electrode hole and the thread of the joint.

6. Just tighten the spark electrode.

As a carbon and graphite product manufacturing company, we will do our best to meet all the needs of customers.
