is a high-quality oil plant unique to China and the most important oil tree species in
the low hilly areas of the south of the Yangtze River in China. It has been cultivated

Camellia oleifera trees are 4 to 6 meters high, usually 2 to 3 meters. The bark is
light brown and smooth. Single leaves alternate, leathery, oval or oval-elliptic, with
fine serrated edges, 3-10 cm long and 1.5-4.5 cm wide. The flowers are terminal or
axillary, bisexual, white, 6-9 cm in diameter, petals obovate, and often dilobed at the
top. The capsule is spherical, oblate, olive-shaped, 3-4 cm in diameter, with thick and

and shiny.
