 HAL LAN ™ D403 is Meglumine-type resins can selectively adsorb and enrich boron from fresh water, sea water or brine for environmental protection or borate production. It can also be used for selective removal of boron in high purity water. This kind of resin is in the alkaline medium for boron adsorption, and under acidic conditions for resolution. The resin is then converted into a free amine for reuse.

Chelating Resin D403 Boron Selective Resin,Pretreatment and use methods are as follows:

a. Load the resin into the exchange column according to the design quantity (note that the minimum height of the resin should not be less than 800mm).

b. Through the water backwash resin, and control the flow rate to make the resin backwash development rate of 75-100% (backwash flow rate is about 10-15m/h), the time is about 10-20 minutes, until the water is clear and free of impurities.

c. Stop backwashing and let the resin settle naturally. Then adjust the water level in the exchange column to 20-30cm above the resin layer.

d. Through 3-4%HCl, twice the volume of resin, about 1 hour.

e. Continue to rinse the resin with water at the same rate until the water pH is 3-4. It takes about 1 hour and uses about 2-3BV of water.

f. Pass in 4-5%NaOH of 2BV at the same speed for about 1 hour.

g. Continue to inject clean water at the same speed for replacement for about 1 hour, and the water consumption is about 2BV.

h. Then continue to wash the resin with water at the running velocity (10-30m/h) until the pH is 8-9, and it can be put into operation.

i. When the resin fails and needs to be regenerated, repeat the above operations 3.2 to 3.8. 

j. The resin is used for enrichment production of boron products, and a higher concentration of sulfuric acid (e.g. 10-15%) can be used in Step 3.4 to obtain a higher concentration of boric acid. The previous acid solution can also be used again to increase the boric acid content in the solution. Then part of the fresh acid solution is added for thorough analysis.
