HAL LAN ™ NKA-2 is a spherical, non-polar polymer adsorbent. The resin is a cross-styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer. Based on suitable pore size and specific surface, the resin has good selectivity for saponins and flavonoids. The resin is suitable for extracting saponins (such as astragalus saponins and chenoposide), flavonoids (such as proanthocyanidins, isoflavones of red clover), lignans (such as Duescens lignans) and alkaloids (such as ligustrazine) gentiopicroside from aqueous solution.

Pretreatment in food processing:
1. Industrial grade new resin must be pre-treated before use to remove a small amount of oligomers, organic matter and harmful ions contained in the resin.
2. Clean the equipment and pipes before loading the column to prevent the pollution of harmful substances to the resin. Clean the water in the equipment by draining it together.
3. Before the adsorption column, add acetone equivalent to 0.4 ~ 0.5 times the volume of the filling resin, and then put the new resin into the column, so that the liquid level is about 0.3m higher than the resin layer, and soak for 24 hours.
4, with 2BV acetone, at 2BV/h flow rate through the resin layer, and soak for 4 ~ 5 hours.
5. With ethanol, wash through the resin layer at the flow rate of 2BV/h until the effluent does not appear white and cloudy with water. The ethanol is washed with water at the same flow rate.
6. Pass through the resin layer with 2BV 5%HCl solution at the flow rate of 4 ~ 6BV/h, soak for 2 ~ 4 hours, and then wash with water at the same flow rate until the pH is neutral.
7. Use 2BV 2%NaOH solution to pass through the resin layer at the flow rate of 4 ~ 6BV/h, and soak for 2 ~ 4 hours, and then wash with water at the same flow rate until the pH is neutral.
Precautions for using resin:
1, transportation and storage process should be kept in 5-40℃ environment, avoid overheating and undercooling. Be careful not to dry out the resin, so as not to change the pore structure.
2. Resin filling is used in the adsorption column. Before loading, equipment pipes should be cleaned to prevent harmful substances from polluting the resin (such as iron pollution).
3, before the material liquid into the resin bed should be impurity, clarification, filtration, so as not to pollute the resin.
4, the resin outage time is too long, before outage to fully desorption, wash, and to ethanol or more than 10% salt solution soaked in order to avoid bacterial reproduction in the resin.
Vi. Abnormal phenomena and treatment methods
1. After the resin is contaminated by microorganisms, it can be pretreated or soaked with less than 0.5% sodium hypochlorite solution and washed.
2. When water loss becomes dry, ethanol can be soaked and washed.
3. When the resin is contaminated by iron, it can be soaked in 4 ~ 10% hydrochloric acid solution.
4. When the resin is polluted by organic matter, it can be soaked in the mixed solution of 1% NaOH and 10% NaCl.
