Fiber optic technology has many unique characteristics that make it particularly well suited for security and other monitoring applications. Your application may be perimeter fence monitoring or providing a non-sparking sensor signal for detection from miles away. Using an infrared light source through fiber optics is a cost-effective and reliable solution.

The Fiber Fence system works by injecting light into one end of a sensing fiber and measuring the amount of light reaching the control unit at the other end of the fiber. If a sensor trips or other interference with the fiber causes the amount of light reaching the detector to drop below a preset threshold, an alarm signal is generated and sent out via a dry contact relay on the back of the control unit. When many sensors are interconnected, a mapping system can be used to show the exact location of the triggering sensor.
